The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

October 26 and 27 at 9:45AM

The River Center Theater, Baton Rouge

Dear Educator,
Opéra Louisiane is very pleased to invite your fourth, fifth and sixth grade students to our Young People’s Opera Program free of charge! Our past productions have included:
The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (2008, 2011, 2014)
Hansel and Gretel by Englebert Humperdinck (2009, 2012, 2015)
The Barber of Seville by Gioacchino Rossini (2010)
Cinderella by Giaochino Rossini (2013, 2016)
The Young People’s Opera Program is made possible by the C. Howard Pieper Foundation, WVLA and, the City of East Baton Rouge, The Arts Council of Baton Rouge, the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and many private sponsors.
While this may be a completely new experience for your students, it is one that is guaranteed to be exciting and memorable! All performances are sung in English and are accompanied by English supertitles, words projected on a screen next to the stage. The unique sets, fantastic costumes, and the entire production are geared towards students. Each performance lasts approximately 90 minutes.
Performances are free of charge to students, teachers, and chaperones. All you need to do is arrange for transportation to and from the theater. Space is limited, so teachers are encouraged to return their registration forms early! Reservations are taken on a first come, first served basis.
Our website will have  items of interest to teachers including an educational packet for using opera in the classroom. These are provided to help prepare students to enjoy the maximum benefit of this experience.
Thank you for helping to provide our school children with the opportunity to discover and experience live opera. We at Opéra Louisiane are looking forward to seeing you at our next performance!
