In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, traditional YPOP performances have been suspended at this time.










The Hybrid YPOP in Spring 2021.
Eligibility Requirements
YPOP is designed for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classes. Public, private, homeschool and co-op groups are welcome to apply.
Registration Opens on December 10th.
In February and March of 2021, Opéra Louisiane offers a hybrid educational program to best serve the students and teachers during the pandemic. The hybrid program includes 10 interactive virtual sessions all available to fourth, fifth, and sixth graders in the elementary schools of the Greater Baton Rouge Area. The sessions are designed in a way to familiarize students not only with music but with all other art forms that create an opera. In these interactive ZOOM sessions, students learn about acting, movement, dancing, designing sets and costumes, singing, musical notation, and most importantly they learn to communicate their story to the audience through musical tools. Teachers can sign up for a minimum of 3 sessions, or as many as 10! All sessions are offered in February and March of 2021, and you can sign up for them at your convenience.
